Jimmy Buffett is a singer songwriter and businessman,
who continues to draw huge crowds for his live performances. Performing live since his days of busking for tourists in New Orleans, Jimmy has recently reduced his travel and performing schedule to a more relaxed pace playing only…20 to 30 shows a year. Tickets to his shows usually sell out within minutes. Manhattan’s American Bar and Grill invites you to celebrate the sounds of Jimmy Buffet during the week of August 18 – August 25.
Jimmy started out working as a correspondent for Billboard Magazine in Nashville after graduating from The University of Southern Mississippi. He moved on to New Orleans where he would perform on the streets for tourists. In 1971 Jerry Jeff Walker took him on a ‘busking expedition’ to Key West Florida. The next year Jimmy moved there and established his persona as a laid back beach bum. He started perfecting his form of music into what is sometimes referred to as ‘gulf and western’. He continues in the music industry today known as a strong draw for concert goers.
