Manhattan’s American Bar and Grill is pleased to announce their participation in Dine-Away Hunger for DuPage County on June 13th, 2012. Dine-Away Hunger is a benefit sponsored by the People’s Resource Center (PRC) to raise awareness and money for the food pantry run by People’s Resource Center.
PRC has served the residents of DuPage County, Illinois since its inception in 1975. It was founded by Dorothy McIntyre, Father Tom Peyton and a group of families that saw the need for helping the poor and disenfranchised families of DuPage County. It began in a rented house in Wheaton and has grown to its multi-service resource centers located throughout the county. It now services over 31,000 residents in DuPage County.
The Dine-Away Hunger event began in 2003 by volunteer Judy Bonelli, who still manages the event. In 2011 the event went from being held four times a year to once a month. Each month local area restaurants agree to contribute 10% of all sales on a particular day to the food pantry. This month the date is June 13. Cadence Health (formerly CDH) has said it will match dollar for dollar received up to $10,000.
So come out to Manhattan’s American Bar and Grill on June 13th and support the PRC food pantry for DuPage County. Remember that we will donate 10% of your bill which will then be matched by Cadence Health. You get to enjoy eating out while knowing that you are helping those in your community that are in need.
